Choosing a size

One logo, centred: 6 to 7 cm square over the maker’s logo is the spot everyone already looks at.
A wordmark: a strip of about 9.5 by 4 cm keeps a long name readable from across a table.
A full lid: mix three sizes, largest at the top, which is the part seen most when the laptop is open.
Leave the edges: keep 1 cm clear of the rim and the corners, where a sticker lifts first.

Printing

Die-cut matte vinyl is what lasts on aluminium and peels off without residue. Send the printer your artwork at 300 dpi at the real size. A 9.5 cm sticker is about 1120 pixels wide. The die-cut sticker maker adds the white border and the cutline, and the mockup generator shows it on a lid.
