Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026

The short version: No cookies at all, and no cross-site tracking. Visits are counted anonymously. Buying needs an email and a card, so we keep your brand name, email, logo, the price and a payment reference — never your card details. The seller sees that email, because they are the merchant for their own sale. Selling needs an account and your own Stripe, which we never see inside.

Who we are

BrandMyLaptop is run by Vincent S, trading as Vynse, a sole trader based in France. Contact: contact@vynse.dev. We are the data controller for the site and the listings on it.

For the sale itself, the seller is the one you are dealing with — they take the payment into their own account and decide what goes on their laptop. They are a controller of what they receive about their buyers, and their own obligations there are theirs.

What we collect when you buy

  • Email address — for your receipt, and so the seller can reach you about the artwork they are printing. It is passed to the seller, for that reason and because they are the merchant for the sale.
  • Brand name, logo file and website — they are what gets published on the lid and on that listing’s page once the seller approves them. A refused logo is deleted.
  • What you paid, and when — the price is shown publicly beside the spot.
  • An X handle, if you give one — optional, and published beside your logo.
  • A payment reference — the identifiers Stripe returns, so the payment can be found and refunded. Card numbers never reach this site: they are entered on Stripe’s own page, and the payment goes to the seller’s Stripe account rather than to ours.

We do not ask a buyer for their name, address or phone number, and there is no account to create.

What we collect when you sell

  • Your X account — the handle and the account id, which is how you sign in. Your handle is shown publicly on your lid, because it is the thing a buyer can check before paying a stranger. We are never able to post on your behalf.
  • An email address — to reach you about your own listing.
  • What you set up — the machine, the layout, the prices, the closing date, and the proof photo you post at the end. All of it is public, which is the point of a listing.
  • Your own Stripe account — connected, not created by us. You keep your account, your dashboard and your relationship with Stripe. We receive an account reference and a yes-or-no about whether you can take payments, and never your bank details or identity documents. You can disconnect us from your Stripe dashboard whenever you like, which stops new sales on your lid.
  • What you owe the tax authorities is between you and them. Because the money is taken into your own Stripe account rather than ours, Stripe — not this platform — is the one reporting it. Our own records are of the commission we earned.

What each side sees of the other

Once a seller approves a purchase, the brand name, logo, website and price appear on the listing — that is what buying a spot is for. A purchase waiting for approval is shown to nobody but the seller.

A seller reviewing their queue sees the brand name, logo, website, X handle, price and email address of each purchase on their own lid, and nothing from any other seller’s. A buyer’s email is never published on the site.

Of a seller, a buyer sees what is on the listing: display name, X handle, the lid, the prices and the proof photo.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies. Where visitor numbers are measured, they come from DataFast in its cookieless mode: it records your IP address, your browser’s user-agent and the page you landed on, and turns them into a pseudonymous identifier that rotates roughly every 24 hours. There is no advertising network, no cross-site tracking, and no profile of you.

The site also keeps a few things in your own browser, which never reach a server:

  • your buying details, so you do not have to retype them;
  • a lid you are part-way through setting up as a seller, so signing in does not cost you the form;
  • your seller sign-in, if you have one.

Who processes your data

  • Supabase — hosts the database, the logo files and the proof photos, and handles seller sign-in.
  • X — when a seller signs in with it, it tells this site their handle and account id, and nothing else.
  • Stripe — takes and refunds payments, and holds the card and identity details this site never sees. Each seller has their own Stripe account, and buyers pay into it directly.
  • Resend — sends the buyer’s receipt and the seller’s notice.
  • Vercel — hosts the site and keeps standard server logs.
  • DataFast — counts visits, without cookies.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for anything other than running this marketplace.

How long we keep it

Purchase records stay for as long as the sticker is on the lid, since they are the record of who bought what. A refused logo is deleted straight away; ask us and the rest goes within 30 days.

A seller’s account and their closed listings stay while they have a lid on the site, and go on request afterwards.

Records of the commission we earned, and of the sales it came from, are kept for as long as French accounting and tax law requires, whatever you ask, because that obligation is not ours to waive. The sale itself is also the seller’s record to keep.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted. Email contact@vynse.dev and we will handle it within a month. For what a seller holds about you as their buyer, ask them — we will pass the request on. You may also complain to the CNIL if you are not satisfied.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we email everyone holding a spot and every seller with a live lid. The date at the top always shows the current version.
