Terms

The short version: A spot has a price and you pay it in full, to the seller — the money goes to their own Stripe account, not to us. They approve your logo, and on a lid they already own they have 14 days to put the sticker on and post the photo; on one still being funded, it goes on when the machine arrives. If they refuse your logo you are refunded in full. BrandMyLaptop runs the listing and takes 10%; the sticker itself is an agreement between you and the seller, and we are not a party to it.

Who is who here

BrandMyLaptop (“the platform”, “we”) is published and operated by Vincent S, trading as Vynse, a sole trader (micro-entreprise) established in France.

A seller is the person whose laptop it is. They set the machine, the layout and the prices, they approve or refuse each logo, and they print the stickers and put them on their own lid.

A buyer is whoever pays for a spot on that lid.

The sale is between the buyer and the seller. The platform is not a party to it. We publish the listing, check that it is not obviously fraudulent, provide the checkout, and take a commission. We do not own the laptop, do not print or ship anything, do not hold the money, and are not the seller’s agent for anything beyond running the listing.

The platform is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc. or any laptop maker.

What you are buying

A sticker spot on one named seller’s laptop lid. It buys a printed die-cut vinyl sticker of your logo, applied to that lid at the size and position the spot describes, and kept there for the number of months that listing shows — the seller chooses it, it is never fewer than six, and it runs from the day you buy, not from the day the sticker goes on. It also buys a listing on that lid’s page with a link to your site.

Sizes shown are the printed vinyl dimensions. The lid drawn on the site is a diagram of the layout, not a photograph of the seller’s actual machine.

How buying works

  • Each spot has one price, paid in full. There is no auction, no bidding and no deposit.
  • Payment is taken by card through Stripe Checkout and goes directly into the seller’s own Stripe account. Stripe deducts the platform’s 10% commission as it passes. At no point does the platform hold your money.
  • A spot stops being buyable the moment somebody pays for it. If two people try at once, the second is refused and not charged.
  • Your logo goes to the seller for approval, and nothing appears on their laptop until they say yes.
  • There is no account to create to buy. Your email is where the receipt goes.
  • All amounts are settled in euros; prices shown in dollars are an indicative conversion and are not the amount charged.

Refunds, and who owes them

If the seller refuses your logo, you are refunded in full, automatically, at the moment they refuse it. Nothing is printed and nothing appears anywhere.

The seller has 14 days to put your sticker on and update the photo on their listing. If that passes and it has not happened, you are entitled to ask them for your money back, and they owe it.

Those 14 days run from your purchase, and they apply to a lid whose seller already owns the laptop.

A lid that is still being funded carries no such deadline, and it would be dishonest to print one: the machine has to be paid for, ordered and delivered first, and none of that is in the seller’s hands. What they undertake instead is to apply your sticker and post the photo as soon as the machine arrives. The listing says which of the two kinds it is, in as many words, before you pay — and if a funded seller goes quiet, the platform can remove their listing and refuse them the platform, which is the same leverage it has everywhere else.

Reaching the goal is not a condition of your purchase. A funded lid that falls short does not dissolve: the seller undertakes to apply every sold sticker regardless — paying the difference on the machine themselves — or to refund any buyer they cannot deliver to. They are the merchant of the sale, so this obligation is theirs and sits where the money went: with them, not with the platform.

Beyond that, the seller owes you the sticker and the refund, because the sale is theirs. The money is in their account, so they are the one who can return it — the platform cannot refund you out of funds it never held.

Tell us anyway, at contact@vynse.dev. We will contact the seller, and we can remove their listing and refuse them the platform — which is the leverage we do have and will use. We cannot compel a payment. If a seller stops answering entirely, your remedies are against them, and a card payment also leaves you whatever your bank offers.

This is the honest shape of the trade: buying here costs less friction than an escrow would, and in exchange you are relying on a seller whose X account, listing history and proof photo are all in front of you before you pay.

If you are the seller

By putting a lid up you undertake to:

  • own the laptop, or — if you listed it as one you are funding — buy the machine you described with what the spots raise;
  • review every logo by hand. You may refuse any of them at your discretion; the lid travels with you and you keep the final say over what it carries. Refusing refunds the buyer in full and costs you nothing;
  • print each sticker yourself, to the spec the platform gives you, and apply it and update the photo on your listing within 14 days of that sale — or, if you are funding the machine, as soon as it arrives. Each buyer paid for their own sticker on its own, so none of them is waiting for the others and a lid that never fills is not a reason to leave the first one unstuck;
  • keep them on the lid for the period your listing promised, and use the laptop normally rather than storing it away;
  • run one live lid at a time. A second listing on the same machine sells the same space twice;
  • connect your own Stripe account before your lid goes live, and settle your own obligations to your buyers, including refunds where one is due and your own tax and reporting wherever you are. You are the merchant for your own sales; BrandMyLaptop is not.

The platform may decline to publish a lid, and reads every lid listed as one being funded before it reaches the board.

Your logo

By uploading a logo you confirm you have the right to use it and to let the seller and the platform display and print it for this purpose.

It is reviewed by the seller before it appears, and the platform may refuse or remove it independently. If either of us refuses it, you are refunded in full.

What is promised, and what is not

A seller undertakes to carry your sticker and use their laptop normally. Nobody — not the seller, not the platform — makes any promise about impressions, reach, views, clicks or results. Those cannot be honestly guaranteed for a laptop lid and we will not invent a number. You are buying presence, not performance.

A sticker is a paid placement, not an endorsement, in every direction: the seller does not vouch for the brands on their lid, those brands do not vouch for the seller, and the platform vouches for neither. Nothing on a lid is a recommendation by anyone.

The platform does not verify a seller’s claims about themselves beyond checking that the X account they signed in with is theirs, and does not inspect any laptop.

Nothing is shipped by the platform — no laptops, no stickers, no printed material of any kind. The seller prints and applies everything.

When we remove a lid or a sticker

The platform may suspend or remove any listing, any sticker or any account — before, during or after a sale — where it finds fraud, unlawful content, material misrepresentation, a seller who has stopped answering, or a breach of these terms. Missing the 14 days is such a breach, and it is a dated one: it can be checked against the listing rather than argued about. Removing a listing does not by itself refund anybody, because the money is not ours to return; it stops further sales and ends that seller’s use of the platform.

How lids are ordered on the board

The board shows live listings first, and orders them by the total sold so far, highest first. Closed ones follow. Nothing about that order can be bought, and no seller pays for placement on it.

Who you are dealing with

This site is published and operated by Vincent S, trading as Vynse, France. Contact: contact@vynse.dev.

Card payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. Each seller holds their own Stripe account and their own relationship with Stripe. The platform never sees or stores your card details, and never sees a seller’s bank details or identity documents.

Sticker spots are sold as advertising space to businesses and professionals, not to consumers, and the prices shown are the amounts charged.
